The Microsoft Lumia 540 is a Microsoft lumia Windows Phone 8.1 Smartphone with 1 GB of RAM released in Indian, Middle Eastern, African, and Asian Pacific markets. Other internal specifications are similar to earlier devices in the Lumia 5xx series.
Due to the newness of the product, it is currently the only compatible Lumia device (running Windows 8 or 8.1, as Windows phone 7 devices are not compatible) that does not yet support the Windows 10 Mobile Insider preview (excluding specific carrier variants), but support is expected with subsequent updates to the preview builds.
